Abstract :
Copper nanoparticle deposited on stilbite zeolite act as an effective catalyst for the synthesis of 2-(substituted phenyl)-3-(5i-methyl thiazole)-4-thiazolidinones (4), 2-(substituted phenyl)-3-(5i-methyl thiazole)-5-methyl-4- thiazolidinones (5) and 4-(substituted phenyl)-3-chloro-1-yl-(5i-methyl thiazole)-2-azetidinones (6). These compounds were synthesized by cyclic condensation of thioglycolic acid, thiolactic acid and chloroacetyl chloride in presence of triethyl amine with different Schiffbases. The structures of synthesized compounds have been characterized on the basis of IR and 1H NMR spectra.
