Abstract :
This research critically examines the immunization status of children in General Hospital Suburb areas in Nigeria, and explores the existing gaps and potential strategies for improvement. Immunization is a crucial component of public health, playing a vital role in preventing the transmission of infectious diseases and safeguarding the well-being of children. However, rural areas face unique challenges in ensuring adequate immunization coverage, including limited access to healthcare services, low awareness, and cultural beliefs. The study focuses on General Hospital Suburb areas as a specific context to investigate the immunization status of children in a rural setting. Understanding the current immunization status and the factors influencing it in this particular area is essential for designing targeted interventions and policies to address the gaps in immunization coverage. This study holds significant implications for public health policy and practice. By critically examining the immunization status of children in General Hospital Suburb areas, the research provides valuable insights into the factors that influence immunization coverage and highlights the challenges encountered in achieving the desired immunization targets. The findings of this study can inform the development of evidence-based strategies to improve immunization programs in similar rural areas, ultimately enhancing the overall health and well-being of children. The research objectives of this study are to assess the current immunization coverage among children in General Hospital Suburb areas, identify the factors influencing immunization status, compare the immunization coverage rates with national and global targets, and provide recommendations for enhancing immunization programs and policies in similar rural areas. By addressing these research questions, this study aims to contribute to the existing knowledge base on immunization coverage in rural areas and provide insights for effective interventions and policies that can improve the immunization status of children in General Hospital Suburb areas. The findings of this research have the potential to shape future strategies to overcome barriers to immunization in rural areas, ultimately leading to better health outcomes for children.
