Abstract :
Three pig carrions were studies for 60 days; arthropods were collected in twofold on a daily basis for the primary week and one time every day for the remaining weeks. Five stages of decomposition were recognized; the dry decay stage took the highest period of decomposition (76%) followed by advanced decay stage (12%) and the fresh stage was least (2%). The total number of arthropods collected were 809, the active decay stage yielded highest number of insects (242) followed by the advanced decay stage and the least (52) was recorded at the fresh stage of decomposition. There were 306 Diptra, 265 Hymenoptera, 201 Coleoptera and only 29 from other orders. The dominance index was highest (0.24) during the fresh stage followed by the dry decay stage (0.15) but was least (0.06) at the advanced decay stage and the Simpson index was highest (0.94) at the both the active and advanced decay stages but was least (0.76) at the fresh stage. Hannon Weiner index was highest (2.93) at the advanced decay but was least (1.56) at the fresh stage as Evenness index was highest (0.92) at the bloated stage but least (0.75) at the dry decay stage and Margalef index was highest (3.92) at the advanced putrefying phase followed by the active rot period (3.67) but was least (1.26) at the fresh decay stage while the Equitability index was highest (0.97) at the swollen phase followed by active rot period (0.93) but least (0.87) at initial period of decay. In the PCA, the 1st component showed that 43.40% of varieties from database as 2nd component stood for 22.30. The loading point showed that the dry decay, bloated and fresh stages are optimistically interrelated in the midst of 1st component as well as the 2nd component, the active decay and advanced decay are optimistically interrelated with 1st component and depressingly connected with 2nd component.
