Abstract :
The study developed a model of instructional management, motivation, and learning environment on students’ performance in science among Grade 9 students of the six public secondary schools in the division of Davao de Oro in the School Year 2020-2021. Specifically, it examined the variables that best predict students’ performance in science and the best fitting structural model. Correlational and causal-comparative designs were utilized in this study. Moreover, sets of adapted survey questionnaires were used to obtain information from the participants. For students` performance in science, the study used the students` first and second quarterly grades in science. Pearson Product Moment Correlation, Multiple Regression, and Structural Equation Modelling were the statistical tools utilized in the study. The results showed that instructional management, motivation, and learning environment have a significant and positive relationship with students’ performance in science. Moreover, self-efficacy for motivation and authentic learning for the learning environment were significant predictors of students` performance in science. Finally, the best fit model of students` performance in science is model 5, which includes students` motivation and their perceived teachers’ instructional management strategies.
