Abstract :
Life skills are vital factors in the social and holistic development of people from all walks of life. This study was undertaken to determine the view as well as the attitude of awareness and value of life skills of the graduating senior high school learners. The study used a quantitative method of research. The number of learner-respondents was limited to 50 randomly selected grade 12 learners from two senior high schools in the Schools Division of City of Meycauayan, Bulacan, Philippines. Data collected were treated using frequency, mean, standard deviation, t-test, and Pearson r-test. Results revealed that the learner-respondents show awareness and value of life skills. They also value the contribution of their parents and teachers in different learning life skills. The parent-teacher-school relationship is related to the life skills of learner-respondents however the relationship is weak. The relationship between teachers’ contribution and learner-respondents’ preparedness is also weak. It is also the same with parents’ contribution and learner-respondents’ preparedness. The current setup in the new normal where interaction with the teachers and parents’ role as learning facilitators did not contribute to the learners’ feelings of preparedness in any of the curriculum exits.
