Abstract :
The Akermanite type calcium magnesium silicate Ca2MgSi2O7: Eu2+ activated and Ce3+ doped phosphor powder were prepared using high temperature solid state reaction. Their optical properties like thermoluminescence (TL), Photoluminescence (PL) were investigated in detail. Under UV irradiation, Ca2MgSi2O7:Ce3+Eu2+ phosphor exhibits a prominent emission band around 466nm. The Thermoluminescence (TL) analysis observed that it has been a single glow peak was occured in all the TL glow curves of Ca2MgSi2O7: Eu2+,Ce3+ codoped phosphor . Moreover, the kinetic parameter (activation energy and frequency factors) of trap centers was calculated from the TL glow curve of the prepared sample.
