Abstract :
A theoretical study has been done to find crystal field parameters and zero-field splitting parameter of Mn2+ doped SrCl2 single crystals using superposition model and the perturbation theory. The theoretical zero-field splitting parameter D agrees well with the experimental value evaluated from EPR study. The present study supports the experimental result that Mn2+ ions substitute at Sr2+ site in SrCl2 single crystal.
