Abstract :
The sol-gel method has been implemented to synthesize CuO nanoparticles at 1000C.The monoclinic phase structure of CuO nanoparticles has been confirmed by X-ray Diffraction (XRD) pattern. Crystal size and dislocation density of the nanoparticles have been estimated from XRD data. Optical band gaps have been calculated from optical absorption spectra. The chemical composition of the nanoparticles has been investigated with using fourier transform infra red (FTIR) spectroscopy. The crystal surfaces of the nanoparticles have been investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM).
