Abstract :
Innovative work delivery research can help develop technical workforce of polytechnic graduates. However, so much have not been known about how innovative work delivery can make sustainable and manifest impact on polytechnic academic work delivery. It is on this ground that this study investigated the mediating role of employee satisfaction on employee empowerment and innovative work delivery in the Plateau State Polytechnic. In order to achieve the research objectives, the study adopted a quantitative approach with a sample size of 265 employees and used SPSS package to analyse the data. The results showed that employee empowerment has a positive and significant relationship innovative work delivery (?=0.348, T=5.849, & P=0.000<0.05), and employee satisfaction (?=0.564, T=10.747, & P=0.000<0.05). Employee satisfaction positively and significantly influences innovative work delivery (?=0.587, T=11.423, & P=0.000<0.05); while employee satisfaction has a full mediating effect between employee empowerment and innovative work delivery. It was recommended that the rector, management and National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) should together ensure the consistent upgrade of infrastructural, technological and practical technical framework for polytechnic institutions as a necessary sustenance of the mediating role of employee satisfaction.
