Abstract :
This paper attempts to estimate the villager’s energy demand of some non-electrified villages from the Balaghat District of Madhya Pradesh. A total of 22 villages from five blocks had been selected for data collection. Presently the villages are neither electrified nor grid-connected. To this end, we collected the data from a survey of the villages that shows the number of households, size of family, the size of the house, Community building, income of a family, etc. The Population of the village lies between 98 -400. The average number of persons per household is ~6. In this study, we restrict the initial electricity demand to get an effective output, and thermal demand is calculated by the basic phenomenon of energy consumption pattern. The study suggests that initially 131- watt load of electricity is suitable for every household as well as community building and 8-12 poles of street light having seven watts led light is sufficient for the village. Per capita consumption of energy for thermal purposes is fulfilled by firewood using a modern stove.
