Abstract :
In this article we address the problem of estimating the coefficient of variation (cv) of a finite population using two auxiliary variables. Estimation of the cv, a measure of variability, is one of the important parameters and the real use of its estimate would be in determining a sample size for a future study. The regression and composite-type estimators of the coefficient of variation are suggested and their performances are compared with the estimators available in the literature empirical study. Also, a small scale Monte Carlo simulation is carried out to support the findings. Among the estimators considered under study, the suggested estimators have performed very well.
