Abstract :
The present study proposes a new mean estimator using stratified two-phase sampling in the presence of non-response and measurement errors on a survey variable. The proposed estimator is based on auxiliary attribute and variable information. Up to the first degree of approximation, expressions for the bias and mean squared error of the proposed estimators are derived. Members of the family of the proposed generalized class of estimators are identified and studied. The performance of the proposed estimator is theoretically compared to that of existing mean estimators. A numerical study is conducted using a real-world data set to compare the efficiencies of the proposed estimators with other existing mean estimators. The proposed estimators outperform other existing mean estimators in the absence and presence of measurement errors, according to the numerical study. Furthermore, in the absence and presence of measurement errors, the values of the proposed estimators` percent relative efficiencies decrease as the inverse sampling rate and non-response rate increase.
