  Employability Status of NABCO Trainees for the Job Market

  Abstract
  The aim of this study was to investigate the employability status of NABCO trainees after the first year in their preparedness to transition to the job market before their exiting in the third year. Primary data were collected from a sample of 399 trainees of the Nation Builders Corps program out of a population of 100,000 through an online questionnaire administration. Simple descriptive statistics such as the mean and percentage were used to analyze the data. The findings of the study showed that the first two main objectives of NABCO to 1Provide temporary employment to unemployed graduates, 2Improve skills and employability for transition from the program to permanent employment has duly been positively attained and it’s on course just after the first year of its launching. It is concluded that despite the achievement of the NABCO set objectives, the government in association with NABCO must find tangible ways to imbibe into trainees to be entrepreneurship oriented so not make them unemployable after the expiration of their contract in two years from now. It is therefore recommended that the government and NABCO Secretariat strategize adequately in preparation towards the exit of the current trainees.

  The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of corporate social responsibility initiatives on customers’ loyalty toward the Nigerian retail banks. A sample of 430 individual customers of the Nigerian retail banks in some selected towns in north eastern Nigeria participated in the survey as respondents. Hypotheses were tested using hierarchical multiple regressions. The findings showed that the economic, ethical, and philanthropic initiatives had a positive effect on customer loyalty while the legal initiatives did not show positive effect. Also, the findings revealed that gender did not exhibit a moderating role on the effects. The study concludes that implementing corporate social responsibility initiatives are significant undertakings which lead to customer loyalty. It is therefore suggested that corporate social responsibility activities be implemented in the retail banks in Nigeria as a strategy for achieving long-lasting customer. Furthermore, it is suggested that the managers of Nigerian retail banks should ignore gender as a basis for segmentation. Instead, managers should explore other alternatives of segmentation.

  The central problem of the economy results from two observations: the productive resources are scarce and the needs are unlimited [1].The economy is the alternative use of scarce resources to maximize the welfare of the whole community. So the budgetary controls is generally recognized as the main instrument for allocating resources to specific recurrent and development activities [2].The allocation of resources is important for two reasons: (1) Any government activity has an influence on the allocation of resources and any production of a good or service involves a sacrifice: labor or equipment required: for example, public transport service provision imposes an opportunity cost which is measured by the quantity of other goods or services that could have been produced with the resources taken by the public authorities and which are no longer available for the private sector, that is why the State must be careful not to waste these productive resources by allocating them inefficiently. (2) The government don`t have an obligation to negotiate or respect the norms of optimal allocation of resources in the production of its own services. It is therefore a question here of evaluating the different allocations of goods and services so as to be able to determine if some are better than others, and in particular, if it is possible, what is the best, which is the best of all: This is the subject of our discussion on this paper

  Abstract
  Nepal’s complex social structure makes identifying indigenous population particularly challenging. Indigenous are the original inhabitants of a land mass. They are not immigrants, and if they are the very first settlers of that area. They did everything to make the area inhabitable. Adivasi/ Janajati are one of the indigenous having their own mother tongue and traditional customs, distinct cultural identity, distinct social structure and written or oral history of their own. The objectives of this paper are to study about representation of endangered marginalized ethnic groups in media and to investigate their satisfaction on the media coverage regarding their ethnicity. The paper constitutes important elements of the research including the sources of information, survey, sampling methods, data presentation and data analysis. The result shows that the issue of representation of indigenous groups of people is important since they are under the threat of extinction due to lack of awareness and inability of creating the apt lifestyle in rapid changing world.

  Agricultural Exports and Economic Growth in Selected West African Countries

  This study examined the impact of agricultural exports on economic growth of selected West African Countries (Nigeria, Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire and Benin Republic), using panel data covering 1982 to 2016. The study adopted panel Fixed Effect method to find out that agricultural exports have a significant and positive (0.07) impact on the economic growth of these countries when observed on the basis of common coefficient, but with mix results when considered on the basis of country-specific coefficients; insignificant positive (0.003518) impact on the Nigerian economy, significant negative (-0.265914) impact on the economy of Cote d’Ivoire, an insignificant negative impacts (-0.04987 and -0.019416) on the growth of the economies of Ghana and Benin Republic, respectively at 5% significance level. The study therefore recommended among other things that these countries should ensure diversification of agricultural products or value addition before exporting agricultural goods in order to fully tap in on the benefits of exportation.
