  Abstract
  We have listed out the geomagnetic storms of the ascending phase of solar cycle-24 (covering the period January 2008 to December 2011). Since, our analysis interval is low activity period, so that the geomagnetic storms occurred during this time of interval, are not very large but they have the average Dst values between -50nT to -75nT. We have also find out the associated phenomena to these geomagnetic storms like solar flares, CMEs, interplanetary (IP) shocks and magnetic cloud (as shown in table no. 1).

  Abstract
  The present work reports the synthesis and optical studies of TiO2 nanoparticles filled PET/PS blends. TiO2 nanoparticles have been synthesized by simple chemical method and PET/PS blends have been prepared using solution casting method. The shape and size of titania nanoparticles have been determined with the help of Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) which found to be 16 nm. The optical studies of PET/PS blends have been carried out using UV-Vis spectroscopy. When calculated the band gap of blends from absorption spectra, the decrement in band gap has been found with increasing the TiO2 filler content in PET/PS blends.

  Abstract
  In the present work Polycarbonate and Polystyrene (PC/PS) have been blended with different weight percentages (100/0, 50/50, 0/100) and filled with different concentration of Synthesized ZnO Nanoparticles (1, 2, 3 wt.%) using solution casting method. The size of nanoparticles has been confirmed by X-ray diffraction (XRD). The effect of filler content on PC blends have been investigated by means of Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) and Differential Scanning Calorimeter (DSC). Significant changes in FT-IR analysis have been observed which reveals interactions between the two polymers. Blends formation have been confirmed from FTIR. It is observed by DSC thermograms that glass transition temperature of samples have influenced by the heating rate and filler content.

  Abstract
  The studies of the superconducting properties of fullerenes are briefly reviewed. The calculations are compared with coupling constants deduced from a number of different experimental techniques. Estimates of the Coulomb pseudo potential µ* and isotope exponent α describing the effect of the Coulomb repulsion on the superconductivity, as well as possible electronic mechanisms for the superconductivity, are reviewed. The influence of inter and intramolecular phonons on the nature of pairing mechanism and the superconducting state parameters of alkali metal intercalated fullerenes is investigated using the strong coupling theory. It is shown that the electrons in the unfilled band of C₆₀ develops due to intercalation of alkali metal distort the Rb₃C₆₀ lattice and yield low energy intermolecular vibrations. The incorporation of the intramolecular phonons in the transition temperature enhances to about 33 K.

  Abstract
  In this paper new mixed ligand Cu(II) complexes containing schiff base and 8-hydroxyquinoline with the general formula [Cu(L)(Q)] where L= o-hydroxybenzylidene-1-phenyl-2,3-dimethyl-4-amino-3-pyrazolin-5-on and Q=8-hydroxyquinoline were synthesized. The mixed ligand was prepared by chemical root procedure. The resulting product was found to be solid which have been characterized using XRD spectroscopy. The mixed ligand act as primary ligand while sulphate, nitrate, acetate and bromide act as secondary ligand. The data obtained has been preceding using XRD data analysis program Origin 6.0 Professional. From the experimental measurements, various parameters- lattice parameter and particle size have been estimated. Particle size is found to be in the range of 0.07- 0.13 nanometer. The XRD analysis revealed the crystalline nature of all the complexes.

  Abstract
  Plasma is a highly conductive partially ionized gas that contains positive & negative ion Species and neutrals. It is the forth state of matter. Plasma processing is used in many areas like Subsurface Modification, Surface Activation, Plasma Enhanced Physical Vapour Deposition, Thin Film coating, Nitriding, Nanoparticles composition, microelectronic fabrication, and textile Plasma treatment. A system has been designed, fabricated and installed in SVITS, Indore for producing different Plasma through Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition (PE-CVD) technique and dc glow discharge for different plasma applications. The system contains a vacuum chamber, a turbo-molecular pump, two electrodes, vacuum gauges, mass analyzer, mass flow controllers and a RF & DC power supply for producing the plasma using hydrogen argon, Nitrogen, Oxygen gases. Different application can also be performed through some modification in the system like Nanoparticles composition, microelectronic fabrication. The system is integrated at SVITS and a vacuum of the order of 3*10-6 mbar is achieved and glow discharge plasma has been created to test all the sub-systems. The system design with all sub-system specifications and Coating by PECVD, and Plasma Textile Treatment will be broadly presented in this paper.

  Abstract
  The department of Applied Physics at SGSITS, is established in the year 1952. Currently, the department runs PG courses in M.Sc. (Applied Physics) and M.Tech. (Optoelectonics). Over the years the department has established itself as a premier institute for theoretical and experimental facilities in the areas of Laser, Optical Communication, Biomedical Imaging, Nonlinear Optics and Quantum Optics.The Department also has a National MEMS Design Center with support of NPMASS program of ADA, Bangalore. Under this center many simulation tools such as COMSOL Multiphysics, Coventoware, Intellisuite, RSoftBeamPro are procured. Interested researcher wish to use the computational facilities are welcome.

  Abstract
  Zinc Oxide (ZnO) is the most versatile material as it has high mechanical & thermal stability. It has a wide band gap of 3.5 eV which gives this material various properties such as optical and physical property. It is used in different applications such as in electronic devices, sensors, biomedical fields etc. In our work ZnO nanoparticles were synthesized using chemical precipitation method. The ZnO nanoparticles were characterized using X-ray Diffraction (XRD) techniques by Scherrer formula & theoretical characterization done by effective mass approximation method. The particle size is estimated and compared by both practical & theoretical method. Both the results obtained by practical and theoretical methods are found to be in a good agreement.

  Abstract
  Ionospheric irregularities play an important role in ionosphere. Here an attempt has been made to study the different parameter of ionospheric irregularities such as apparent drift speed, true drift speed, apparent drift direction, axial ratio, semi-minor axis and orientation of characteristic ellipse. A comparative study has been presented during different periods of solar activity. Closely space receiver technique have been used for Ionospheric drift measurement at E-region height. Records obtained are analyzed by correlation method.

  X-ray K-absorption spectroscopic studies have been carried out on three copper (II) mixed-ligand complexes .The complexes are: [Cu2(HL)2 (H2O)8](SO4)2, [Cu2(HL)2(H2O)8](Cl)2 and [Cu2(HL)2(H2O)8](Br)2. The ligand HL = (P-methoxy anilino)-P- methoxy phenyl acetonitrile was prepared which included the reaction of P-methoxybenzaldehyde with P-anisidine. The ligand HL act as primary ligand and sulphate, chloride, nitrate and acetate act as secondary ligand. XANES spectra have been recorded at the K-edge of Cu using the dispersive beam line at 2.5GeV Indus-2 synchrotron radiation source RRCAT(Raja Ramanna Center for Advance Technology ), Indore, India. Various X-ray absorption parameters e.g., chemical shift, edge-width and shift of the principal absorption maximum have been obtained in the present study. The studies establish significant correlation between various parameters for these complexes. XANES data have been analysed using the computer software Origin 6.0 professional and Athena.
